Voice-Over Work
A “…very sensual voice that seems informed by a great deal of intellect and a small but dangerous amount of mischief,” Lauren’s easy, articulate voice has been heard in hundreds of 30- and 60-second radio announcements.
Her engaging narration can also be heard on audio guides at The National Museum of Health and Medicine; The Bureau of Engraving and Printing; and in a documentary film about the Española Valley Humane Society.
Lauren holds a Master of Arts in Communication from Emerson College (Boston, MA). She has studied acting at Santa Fe Community College and Theaterwork.
Radio
For six years, Lauren hosted “The Colors of Jazz” on Santa Fe Public Radio KSFR 101.1 FM. On her show, music from the 100-year history of jazz flowed together into sets of ragtime, swing and avant garde, blending in a way that kept listeners guessing — and listening.
Since early 2010, Lauren has produced and hosted “Audio Saucepan,” a carefully seasoned one-hour journey through jazz and music from across the globe intermixed with literary excerpts.
One avid listener explains, “Audio Saucepan is such a provocative and refreshing blend of poetry, spoken word, jazz and audio exploration that I can scarcely contain my delight with each broadcast. Lauren Camp doesn’t so much moderate her show; she performs it. It is a rare foray into the power and mystery of radio at its best, an oasis for the ears.”
“Audio Saucepan” broadcasts on KSFR 101.1 FM Santa Fe Public Radio on Sunday evenings (5-6 PM Mountain Standard Time). If you aren’t near a radio or near New Mexico, you can hear the show by streaming from the KSFR website during that hour.
